Before The Fall: Remy worked as a police officer for the Boston Police Department. She married her college sweetheart, Heath Ross, shortly after graduating but the two split, citing "irreconcilable differences". Despite their split, she opted to keep his last name, mostly due to the inconvenience changing it would have at her work. They have one daughter together, Kaylee Ross.
Interesting Random Fact: To release excess stress after her divorce, Remy would commonly troll forums or make ridiculous craigslist postings under Heath's e-mail and name. To this day, Heath still has no idea why so many men approached him offering "toe-nail massages".
Allie Baker

Before the Fall: Allie attended high school, mostly working in the school's journalism clubs. She preferred photojournalism, but also didn't mind writing for the school's paper. She had a handful of friends, but couldn't really be considered popular. Her family life at home was rather typical - with a software engineer father and a mother who worked from home. She was (and still is) an only child.
Interesting Random Fact: Allie had braces (for two years) until she was fourteen, when she decided to take them off herself with her dad's pliers after hearing her orthodontist tell her mother that she'd be wearing braces until she got to college.
Heath Ross

Before The Fall: Heath worked as a lawyer. After getting out of college, Heath had trouble getting his foot in the door as a notable lawyer and did a lot of pro-bono cases. In his first few years of marriage to Remy, the two of them mainly lived off of Remy's salary. In more recent years, he's been involved with a lot of high profile cases and made a name for himself. After his divorce from Remy, he began seeing Stacy, an unemployed heiress to a line of high end men's clothing outlets.
Interesting Random Fact: He has a thing for "roleplay", his favorite scenario being "the bad cop".
Donny Marks

Before The Fall: Donny Marks was a notorious drug lord and smuggler of other "desirable goods" before Remy took him down in a sting operation. His intelligent schemes and uncanny ability to evade the cops made him nearly impossible to take down, before Remy entered the scene and cleverly laid a trap for him that even he couldn't escape. Donny never forgot the face of the woman that brought his world of easy living to shambles. In fact, he had a lot of time to think about it in the many years he spent in jail following his arrest. When the zombie infestation hit, the prison guards couldn't care less about what happened to the prisoners, and abandoned the prison altogether. With no one to manage them, the prisoners came and went as they pleased, and although the prison was a fairly safe place, Donny decided to jump boat and seek his fortune elsewhere.
Interesting Random Fact: Donny loves opera, with his favorite being Tosca.
Duke Miles

Before The Fall: Miles likes to keep quiet about his past, but it's obvious he's had a lot of military training and experience. He won't talk about how he lost his eye either, and woe to anyone who mentions it. When the outbreak happened, Miles was working in a Military Surplus shop. He bunkered down in there, with his apartment upstairs and the storefront still facing the street. No one's asked him how he manages to get in and out of it every day without getting attacked, but the fact remains that he does.
Interesting Random Fact: Miles wears a wedding ring on the correct finger, but no one has ever seen his wife.

Before the Fall: Kaylee is a very adventerous child, and pursued a lot of interests. She took three years of ballet but also two years of karate. Overlapping both of these interests was three years of gymnastics. A lot of parents commonly asked Remy and Heath how she had the energy to pursue all of these activities, but to them it was obvious that all of the interests in the world weren't really enough to slow her down. After the divorce, although both Remy and Heath went to some lengths to keep Kaylee's life normal, Kaylee became very depressed and needed to see a family counselor and psychiatrist.
Interesting Random Fact: She knows an odd amount of Korean after stumbling upon a channel that played Korean Soap Operas when she was three. Remy and Heath are still unsure as to whether or not she understands what she's saying.
