Episode - Pilot

Boston Police Department Cop Remy Ross is in an interrogation room with Linda, a murder suspect accused of killing her daughter. Remy immediately questions her harshly, causing Linda to cry. Linda starts to insist that she couldn't have killed her daughter (Ginny) because the girl was 'already dead'. Remy questions Linda's wording because evidence shows that Linda had shot her daughter, which would go against Linda's story. Linda does not deny that she shot her daughter, but instead continues to insist that the girl was 'already dead'. Linda then derails the conversation somewhat, complaining that she's cold and asking after her husband. Remy follows the conversation, although somewhat begrudgingly, until she notices that Linda is picking at her hands. Linda begins to speak nonsense as Remy forces her to show the wound on her hands. Remy demands that Linda tell her how the wounds occured, but Linda stops talking and then falls. Shocked, Remy checks for a pulse and finds none. Upon realizing that Linda is dead, she runs to alert workers in the police department outside that Linda needs emergency attention. Stunned, Remy closes the door behind her and turns around to look at Linda. Making strange noises, Linda begins to move towards Remy in an unhuman fashion. Remy tries to warn Linda to stop, but Linda rushes in to attack her, forcing Remy to shoot Linda twice before Linda falls down.

The next scene involves Remy's partner, Bill questioning Remy as to why she shot Linda. Eerily, Remy finds herself repeating Linda's excuse: "She was already dead."

Episode 1 - And That's How It All Started

Remy reveals to the listener that shooting Linda amounted to her being fired and losing custody of her daughter (Kaylee) with her ex-husband (Heath). She was most likely about to get in a lot more trouble, but society started to collapse due to the zombies becoming more rampant, and her case went unnoticed admist the chaos.

Remy remembers the day when she was being questioned by her former partner, Bill. Remy ends up repeating similar phrases that Linda used in the last episode in her defense. Bill decides to send Remy in for a psychiatric evaluation, citing the stress of her on-going custody battle with her ex-husband, and forces Remy to return her police issue pistol and badge.

A news report claims that a virus similar to rabies has become somewhat rampant in specific parts of Boston. Remy then notes that this is how the zombie problem started, saying that the public mostly ignored signs of an impending zombie apocalypse until it was too late. Another news report plays, this time concerning a mass amount of traffic that has accumulated due to people trying to evaculate Boston all at once. It names nearby states as safehavens, and recommends that people staying in Massachusetts stay indoors and avoid stranges. Remy then recieves a phone call from her ex-husband, Heath, who informs her that he is going to try to wait out the situation with his friend, Jeff - a self proclaimed zombie expert. With Heath is their five year old daughter Kaylee. Remy expresses concern and outrage over what she feels is an irresponsible decision, but Heath can't be talked out of his plans. Instead, he insists that Remy reclaim her police issue gun and join them at an undisclosed location when she has it - insisting that she won't be let in unless she has her gun. Remy then briefly talks to Kaylee, who doesn't seem to understand the severity of what her parents are discussing but makes it clear that she hopes to see her mother soon.

Remy drives down to the police station to find the city in complete chaos. There are ambulances and other emergency vehicles everywhere. She enters the police station and hears all of the phone lines continuously ringing, with no one seemingly in sight. Eventually she finds a secretary, Julie, who has become a zombie. Julie then chases her into Bill's old office, where she finds Bill in pieces on the floor. Although appalled by the scene, Remy continues to search for her gun. Julie then manages to break in through a glass window in Bills office. Remy takes her down by hitting her on the head repeatedly with a police issue flashlight. Finally, she reclaims her gun and exits the police office.

Outside she finds that the streets are worse and that some one has stolen her car. As the show fades out, Remy hears a hoarde of zombies moving her way.

Episode 2 - We're All Infected

As Remy encounters the hoarde of zombies from Episode 1, a man named Jim shouts out that there is a safehold nearby that they can go to. Although Remy is determined to look for her daughter, she realizes the danger of her current situation and agrees to go with him. Jim leads her to a safehouse that contains a young woman named Maria who is watching two young children - Lila and Benny, a teenaged girl (Allie) and a middle aged man named George who is watching the door. Remy and Jim quickly get into an argument about whether or not Remy should bother calling Heath, which ends with Remy doing what she wanted to. Unfortunately, when Remy calls she is only able to hear a few words due to bad reception, which seem to indicate that Heath is being attacked. Remy wants to leave immediately to find him but the amount of zombies outside make it impossible for her to do so safely. Maria assures her that they'll let her out as soon as the zombie hoarde passes, inciting another small argument between Remy and Jim. While Remy and Jim argue, Maria talks to the small children who are there. The little girl, Lila, insists that she is fine but that the little boy, Benny, is sick. Benny complains that he is cold and the teenage girl, Allie, gives him her sweater. Benny seems to be hallucinating, but this is overlooked as Remy and Jim argue. Jim becomes more pushy about Remy's actions and their argument gets a little more intense, but Benny interrupts their argument by shouting nonsense. It becomes quickly evident to Remy, due to her experiences with Linda, that Benny is infected. She tells the group this, which greatly upsets Jim, who Maria says is Benny's father. During the argument, Benny bites Lila, thus infecting her as well. Remy announces that she is leaving and Allie declares that she is going with Remy. Jim then proceeds to threaten the entire group with his gun, holding all of them essentially hostage and distracting George from watching the door as everyone attempts to talk him down. A gunshot is fired and Allie shreiks. As tensions rise, the situation deteriorates even further as the barricades at the door fail and George is overrun. Allie, Maria, and Remy make a break for it, but at the last minute Maria freaks out and decides she needs to "get the kids". Remy and Allie don't stick around to see how that goes and continue running away from the chaos and into the city.

Allie and Remy encounter a young woman who appears to be insane but not infected. She makes some odd and disturbing comments to them, and then announces that fireworks are about to happen and that they should salute them. The crazy girl then starts to loudly sing 'The Star Spangled Banner,' which Allie notes is sure to 'alert all of the zombies in the city'. Allie and Remy run away from the girl, hoping to not get caught up in that mess, when an explosion occurs that sends them to the ground. As they are recovering, a truck drives up along side them and a man demands that they get in. Believing that they need to get away from the explosions, Remy obliges and the three of them drive off.
